Do the Gunners already have the arsenal required?

Welcome to boredom.

No.. I’m not talking about your prospects of reading my article. Although I am new to 4footballbets.com, I assure you my upmost commitment in producing work on a regular basis for your enjoyment to debate, agree or argue with at your own desire. The topics I choose shall primarily be based around football… with specific mentions for my favourite teams, Arsenal and Blackpool. Barcelona and Milan shall also receive plenty of attention.

So.. returning to my initial address.. The boredom that a summer without sport brings. I mean.. there are a splattering of sideshows, most notably Wimbledon and F1, but for any true fan of the beautiful game, football, is the only sport we crave.. we require, or in my case.. NEED….!! I hereby confess my addiction to the game. Oh well… Do I feel guilt.. Hell No..!

Moving forward rapidly to this week’s brief topic, Arsenal’s prospects for the forthcoming season. Now, all you doubters of Wenger’s genius.. please hear me out. Two seasons ago (07/08) Arsenal came very, very close to reclaiming the title. They led the way for 2/3 of the season, and only faltered amidst a shower of injuries and lack of squad depth. The season gone, they again dealt with several big injuries to key players (Eduardo, Fabregas, Rosicky and half the defence towards the climax). Preparation for injury must be adhered to through contingency, indeed, but for a team with Arsenal’s budget this becomes a problem. Last year’s benchwarmers largely consisted of youth team players (wonderfully gifted, yet woefully inexperienced).

The forthcoming season is surely set to provide a similar conglomeration of issues.. or maybe not. Think about that for a moment…. This season the magnificently technical Eduardo, the game-changing Rosicky and Santa’s Russian surprise, little Andrey, will all feel like fresh signings.. this is a fact. Carlos Vela, Alexandre Song, Ramsey and Wilshire are maturing impressively and the addition of Thomas Vermaelen, the captain of the mighty Ajax at 23yo, add superb options accross the squad.

For a team that reached to semi-finals with ease, play arguably the best football (on their day) besides Barcelona and have a true technical genius who is obsessed with further glory at the helm.. surely glory beckons. A further addition of a real finisher and a holding hound to support Cesc should follow, thus completing a fantastically gifted and incredibly technical squad. We have heard the word ‘potential’ many, many times before.. but maybe this time there is more worth to such a description than ever before.

To be continued………

A tasty double to start the Premier League season

The English Premier League kicks off on August 15th and online betting site bwin have opened up their markets on the fixtures for the opening day. Manchester United face Premier League newcomers Birmingham and are rated as a 1/5 shot for glory – not the most inviting of bets, but double it up with the 1/4 on Chelsea beating Hull at Stamford bridge and you have youself a 1/2 bet which can see £10 turn into £15 in 90 minutes.

And if you are feeling adventurous, Manchester City are rated as long as 6/4 to beat Blackburn at Ewood Park. With the wide range of talent making their way to Eastlands over the summer, we find them hard to turn down at that price and when permed into our United/Chelsea double, you can end up with odds of 11/4.
